Thank you to We Heart Seattle for five years of making a real difference

Time to acknowledge something positive in Seattle…

Those of us at ChangeWA celebrate the five-year anniversary of We Heart Seattle!

When Seattle progressives’ public safety, drug, and homeless policies were causing the rapid decline of the city in 2020, Andrea Saurez and a small group of like-minded friends went into action. At first, they cleaned parks filled with garbage from homeless encampments. But then they saw a greater need – to help those our government ignored – those living on the streets struggling with addiction and mental illness.

They have taken on radical activists, greedy politicians, and powerful special interest groups who were unconcerned with the lives that were wasting away. We Heart Seattle reached out to those suffering and found them spaces in treatment

Today 300 people are in recovery because We Heart Seattle showed them the compassion to provide help.

They continue to clean parks, green spaces, and sidewalks.  Nearly 2,000,000 pounds of trash have been removed.

We Heart Seattle has quickly become the leading advocate of ending the disastrous Housing First homeless policy and Harm Reduction drug policies that have resulted in thousands of drug-related deaths.
